G2PT167 – 167º Geek Girls Portugal – Porto

Let’s start 2026 and meet at Uphold.

At this meetup at Uphold, the speakers will share interesting topics.

An “Uphold Powered by dbt”, with Maria Melo, we’ll dive into how we use dbt to power a modern, scalable data platform at Uphold. Covering everything from project structure, layers, and naming conventions to real-world scenarios like incremental models, date logic, Jinja, snapshots, and seeds. We’ll look at how we approach testing (unit, data, custom, Great Expectations), build clear documentation and READMEs, apply masking in the consumption layer, and orchestrate everything with DAGs, tags, and dependencies. We’ll also share how we’re leveraging AI for schema generation, better unit tests, and smarter developer workflows—plus a glimpse of what’s coming with DataHub lineage, cross-tool lineage parsing, agent-driven automation, and an expanded data quality framework. A fast-paced, practical session filled with patterns, tips, and ideas you can take back to your own work.

In the second talk, we will hear about “Accidentally building a complex form”. In this talk, Patrícia Barros will share how a seemingly simple form slowly turned into a complex coordination problem. From shifting product requirements to dual validation and a growing team, she’ll reflect on the decisions, doubts, and trade-offs that might have helped keep things (mostly) under control.

Registrations are free. The number of places is limited.
